Satya Nadella says as much as 30% of Microsoft code is written by AI

Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella on Tuesday said that as much as 30% of the company's code is now written by artificial intelligence.

@Viss @catsalad I would like to see how the heck they got this figure because uhhhh.....
@malwareminigun @catsalad well it was the ceo spouting it off at an ai con, so like, if its anything like this, then we know its 100% horseshit

@Viss Just before showing off Copilot Recall like it was the best thing since sliced bread 1 month later, I know.

I was severely pissed because I had just spent the last 2.5 months doing nothing but security B.S. nobody would care about for our product to dot our Is and cross our Ts and we flushed all that goodwill down the 🚽

@Viss (In fairness, we *HAVE* been doing more security stuff since then.)
@malwareminigun you gotta get el jefe to stop saying this shit then, cuz like.. how do you square that "30% of our code is written by ai" with this previous headline from last year?
@Viss @malwareminigun I understand that security probably IS a priority right now, and entire teams are likely working hard on this, but I'll be entirely honest none of it matters when the PR being sent to me is shit like this, the risk of this statement being true FAR outweighs my goodwill and ability to assume the unsaid security work is real and helpful

@froge @Viss @malwareminigun nodds in agreement

#Microsoft fucked up in my eyes, and I'm likely helping businesses and orgs migrating away from it before the legal incompatibility of #GDPR & #BDSG against #CloudAct explodes in their faces and they're forced to shutdown everything!

  • Espechally since Microsoft refuses to certify compliance under threat of bearing the costs and losses for a overnight migration, downtimes and any troubles arising from their product.

I'm just glad my current employer is 100% #Windows-free!
