Im Moment fahre ich zweigleisig und beginne, meine #steadyhq Seite zu füllen. Das #patreon Profil pflege ich aber weiter. Patreon gefällt mir besser, aber ich habe den Eindruck, dass viele von einer amerikanischen Plattform abgeschreckt sind. Hat jemand dazu eine Meinung?

@MartinaBrandl Ich hatte vor ~7 Jahren Patreon begonnen. Damals hatte die Plattform schnell (nach 1 Monat) & drastisch die Gebühren erhöht. Da ich noch 0 Followies hatte, bin ich zu buymeacoffe gewechselt. Das hatte nach 1,5 Jahren (und 7 Followies) das Bezahlen mit Paypal eingestellt. Leute hätten nur noch via Stripe oder Exotischerem zahlen können. Was sie nicht taten. Verständlich.
Seit dem hab ich keine Lust mehr auf so Sachen, wo mir eine Firma in mein "Communitybuilding" reinfunkt.

@MartinaBrandl Haha, ich praktiziere momentan keine. Kenne aber Leute, die ihre Newsletter erfolgreich monetarisieren (zumindest behaupten sie es). Und mir fällt die Filmmachering @_elena ein, die beschreibt, wie sie ein selbstgehostetes Ghost zur Monetarisierung nutzt.

@MartinaBrandl Ach so, manchmal bin ich nicht auf dem Dampfer. Natürlich hab ich ein Profil auf @mirlo bei dem Monetarisierung sowohl von Newsletter als auch Songs möglich ist. Außerdem nutze ich Faircamp; darüber haben Leute sogar schon was gekauft.

Vorteil beider: Faircamp ist selfhostbar (relativ einfach und gut erklärt) und Mirlo ist von freundlichen Leuten und auch auf dem Weg zur Selbsthostability.

@MartinaBrandl Mirlo kann m.E. so eine Art eierlegende Wollmilchsau für MusikerÏnnen werden, die ihren Content monetarisieren und eine Community aufbauen wollen UND unabhängig vom goodwill einer Firma sein wollen.

@torstentorsten @mirlo Ah, interessant. Danke! Ich hab's mir grad angeschaut. Was ich ja immer mühsam finde, ist, dass alles heutzutage auf Englisch ist. Ich kann zwar gut Englisch, aber die ganzen technischen Begriffe machen es anstrengend und die Übersetzung ist ein bissel dürftig. Langsam kriege ich Lust, das alles einfach über meine website zu machen. Ich weiß nur nicht, wie das rechtlich ist. Ob ich dann ein Gewerbe betreibe?

@kleisli @Liberapay Auch interessant. Allerdings ist die Transaktionsgebühr 5 % wenn mit paypal bezahlt wird. Da kann man sich besser einen paypal button auf die website machen und 2,49 % bezahlen. Oder hab ich was übersehen?

@MartinaBrandl @Liberapay wenn paypal alleine auch wiederkehrende Zahlungen kann, ist das natürlich günstiger, wobei Paypal auch nicht sehr sympathisch ist.. Da würde ich eher sowas einbinden https://payrexx.com/online-spendenformular
