@FourT4 Heh, yeah. I guess they were bracing for total chaos — considering the Leica I came out in 1925 and the Contax I here in 1932, those were, if not the earliest, certainly among the first precision compact cameras. It’s totally possible people had no clue — or even a frame of reference — for how to hold or use this new tech. And 100 years later: I still hold my camera awkwardly (at times)!
