What’s your biggest Filipino grammar pet peeve? Me: "Like parang" "Eyyy" πŸ˜‚

@fredc Using the word "need" to form a Taglish sentence, as in "Need ko ibigay ito." It's probably just me, but I cringe a little whenever I hear this. And if I'm not mistaken, this is just a recent thing.

Also, creating acronyms for just about anything, especially for greetings, like "HBD" for "Happy birthday" or "GBU" for "God bless you" (the last letter isn't even "u" haha!). I find it lazy, and it takes away one's sincerity when greeting others.

@luthien1126 oh no, nasanay ata ako sa β€œneedβ€œ hahaha. Lagi ko kasing naririnig eh. Tsaka mas maiksi kasi kaysa "kailangan." ✌️

Yung sakin naman yung "is." Kunyari, "ang gusto kong gawin is matulog." Hahaha. 2 letters lang din naman ang "ay." Bakit pa kailangan mag "is"? Parang gusto mo sanang mag-English sa predicate pero "is" lang yung kinaya mo kaya Tagalog na lang ulit hahaha. πŸ˜‚

@brenlately Hahaha! I guess masasanay din ako marinig yung "need."

Natawa ako sa "is" vs "ay" kasi guilty ako dyan. πŸ˜… But you have a good point, hahaha!

This really proves how language evolves, no? Sooner or later, these pet peeves will be so normal, we'll get desensitized tapos iba naman ang papalit sa kanila. 😁

@luthien1126 and I realized guilty pala tayo somehow sa mga pet peeves ng iba haha.

PS. I'm sure di applicable sayo yung last sentence haha. Hasty generalization. ✌️

@brenlately Ahahaha! Yes, we all are guilty! Kaya need natin is to exercise patience. 🀣🀣🀣
