I don't know about that, I think there are some very smart people who aren't on to the ways that media etc manipulate people..
I was lucky to have a module in English about biased language. We had to analyse tabloid articles and write our own, and that lesson stayed with me. None the less I'm also sometimes caught out about things I want to be true, and it must be so much worse for a lot of people.

... Thinking fast and slow, and I have to tell you the human mind takes so*many* shortcuts, it's a miracle we can think at all. Methodical thinking tales more energy, so stressed and tired people question much less. Maybe that's why we're not already on 3 days weeks despite productivity climbing exponentially since the 50s.
And there's a whole science around persuading people of things, for money, power, whatever. I wouldn't be too hard on those people. 2/2
