Beavers play such an extremely important role in ecosystems; dams restore wetlands with biodiversity comparable to tropical rainforest, cleanse water, help regulate climate and moderate flow of streams and rivers. Past over hunting beaver has had a radical negative impact but conversely present reintroduction efforts can rapidly and effectively restore wetlands.
