Read this. Spread it. Our nation does this in our name to a tourist--and much, much worse to immigrants without power or protection.

‘I was a British tourist trying to leave the US. Then I was detained, shackled and sent to an immigration detention centre’

Graphic artist Rebecca Burke was on the trip of a lifetime. But as she tried to leave the US she was stopped, interrogated and branded an illegal alien by ICE. Now back home, she tells others thinking of going to Trump’s America: don’t do it

@jeffjarvis @briankrebs guys, don’t go to DEF CON. Don’t go to Orlando or Vegas. Being white or Canadian or British won’t save you
@hacks4pancakes @jeffjarvis @briankrebs in 2018 I narrowly avoided an interrogation as I was foolishly wearing an ‘impech the motherfucker already’ tshirt entering lax (later I was told I was lucky it was thanksgiving Day). The customs agent put a chill up my spine when he indicated I might have a bad time if I continued to express opinions. I vowed that day to never return. I can’t imagine the risk anyone who doesn’t lick boots is taking entering the us now. Blink wrong and you’re in the hole for 9 days.
@delProfundo @jeffjarvis @briankrebs it’s not just even being political. Being a hacker or having cybersecurity stuff could be enough. Do not go!!
@hacks4pancakes @jeffjarvis @briankrebs yeah exactly. If we’re already hearing about these cases the ones we haven’t heard of will be horrific
