Training

With 3 quick actions, you can be trained to save a life. The number 1 cause of preventable death after injury is bleeding. That’s why we want to train you how to stop the bleed.

Stop the Bleed

@jeffowski Also:
* Tampons => Pokey Wounds.
* Maxi Pads => Slashey Wounds.

They *work* (used both in the field in a pinch) and they're usually handy.

I see in this thread much pearl-clutching vis-a-vis Shootings, but all of these tools work for Everyday sort of stuff, like say, a construction site, or extended camping trip. People get hurt and bleed all the time from things other than gunshot wounds (tampons and packing tape).

Ever seen a hiker fall and get skewered by a stick?

@elfin -- Don't Lie...

If you can go onto YouTube and see many examples of how this doesn't actually work, coming onto this thread to claim: "They *work* (used both in the field in a pinch) and they're usually handy" is outright IRRESPONSIBLE.

Can tampons plug bullet wounds?

YouTube

@jeffowski I have not done it with bullet wounds. I HAVE done it with pokey wounds (people falling on things, usually metal.

My point was to ADD them to A Medical Kit to Augment the bullet wound list.

I did not Lie in anyway, I offered additions to any First Aid Pack for puncture wounds. I think I said that.
