Pusher of Pixels@codinghorror It's such a damning testament to how brainwashed the US is on the whole. Giving money to low income people is considered 'bad' and 'wasteful'.
When in reality it's one of the best was to generate actual economic activity. People will absolutely spend the money...they have to. Which in turn generates tax revenue for low income gov'ts, which allows more services for to more people.

Jan Hamal Dvořák@codinghorror So we have this program in Czechia where poor people get subsidies to be able to afford rent. You know what? Those people now pay 50% higher rent than lower-middle class people!
