While the Trump administration has prevented the UN and NATO from even using language that could offend Putin, Trump now orders a military attack of "overwhelming lethal force" against the Houthis, who are backed by Iran, who is Putin's ally — the guy who Trump thinks he has a "promising" dialog with and is very eager to meet.
If 2025 becomes the beginning of World War 3, it will be because of the unlimited ignorance of the MAGA God King.

@randahl FWIW, this is just business as usual. Trump has been doing lots of really crazy stuff, but in this case he's just continuing the same policy with the Houthi rebels as usual.
Naturally, the infamously pathetic Trump can't admit that he's just doing the same thing as President Joe Biden, but what else is new?

Well, it's pretty basic. The Houthi rebels have been attacking shipping in the Red Sea. This definitely demands some sort of military response, even if it's strictly limited to trying to shoot down the anti-ship missiles in order to defend the ships.
We can debate the extent to which suppressive and retaliatory strikes on the humans attacking shipping is warranted, but obviously US policy for the last ... uhh ... forever ...
@isaackuo I am from the home country of Maersk, so I get why we need to stop the Houthis. Denmark has been active in this mission too.
I am just pointing out that Trump's alliances are a mess. He thinks he can be friends with Putin while threatening to bomb Iran. And he thinks he can be friends with North Korea, while the US has an important trading partner in South Korean.
He simply does not get the bigger picture.
