I have watched the ~30 minute Metallica immersive concert.
I have thoughts, and I have quibbles. Will discuss on the next ATP.
Apple, please. I beg you. More of this. š¤š»
Bah gawd.

@andrewwade It's multicam, yes, but even when you're stationary, you can still move your head around to change your perspective.
I don't think fixed is the right answer for a concert. I get what you/Marco are saying, but it'd be worse than you'd think.
@lexfri Metallica is great*!
* except Lars
@caseyliss @lexfri I don't care for Metallica but I DO hate Lars.
I'm pretty sure we're all of the Napster generation. Is this the source of our common hate of Lars?
@caseyliss I made a podcast with them a few years back. I think the NDA is up.
What a fucking miserable experience.
@lexfri @caseyliss #TaylorSwift
That sell hundreds more #VisionPro unit - hundreds!
@caseyliss Metallica are my favourite band and have seen them live a number of times.
When I had seen this announced hearing your thoughts about it was top of my mind.
Now I just need to find a freind here in Scotland that will let me borrow theirs.
@jamesoloughlin @marcoarment No snark, what does doing it over SharePlay bring to the table then? Other than joint play/pause?
I guess you can speak with each other over the music?
@caseyliss @marcoarment thatās it really. I guess you two hang out with each other enough during the week. š ā¤ļø
I have a lot of ideas of how Apple can improve on the shared experience of events but today thatās it.
@caseyliss I have a lot of thoughts about this. Metallica is my number one favorite band. I went to the Seattle shows right before the Mexico shows at the very end of the tour.
This is somewhat better than being there, because of how close you can be and the things you can see, but obviously feeling the actual music isn't on par with being there.
@caseyliss I loved the part in One where James gets his face really close to the fan's face and then he walks away and the camera stays there and you see the fan put his head down like he just had one of the most amazing moments of his life and he fist pumps the person next to him.
During the intro to Enter Sandman, Kirk drops a pick and you see him pull a new one from the mic stand. The fans there notice the pick fell. A bit later, you see them reaching over the teleprompter trying to find it.
@caseyliss During Enter Sandman Lars is looking to the side and screaming and I thought he was trying to make a face into the immersive camera, but I thought maybe he didn't know where the center of it was. Then I realized he was actually looking between it and the drums so that he could make eye contact with the fans in the Snake Pit.
I'd love the whole concert, but you could see in areas how much room setting a stationary camera took up.
Overall, it was edited very well and was great!

FWIW, there's a trailer you can find that does a decent job of showing the experience
@caseyliss ARE YOU NOT ENTERTAINED!?!
I saw them live a lifetime ago, this needed half as many cuts, but not none. I underestimated how intense this could be. I love that the editors had the wisdom to linger with that one fan (you know the one.)
I canāt wait for this to be an experience everyone can afford.
