I know I've said this every other day for the last 5 weeks but no really this time "I'm scared shitless of what might be about to happen."
@wendysiegelman If they were serious about freedom they would be defending the pornography industry with an identical claim. But they’re not, so that’s all the proof we need.
@wendysiegelman now, all the other banks that continue to do business with that org are suspect.

@wendysiegelman

Grifters gonna grift again

@wendysiegelman

This should be the news of the day

@wendysiegelman It's always all about the Benjamins
@wendysiegelman Great, let's get a lawsuit going and wait for our president to pardon everyone involved.
@wendysiegelman Not sure what to make of this, how to understand it. To whom in the US are banks accountable when money laundering is involved? I thought Treasury. To whom is CapitalOne accountable outside the US? Is the lawsuit something they wanted in order to be able to bring issues to the light of day? Or is this backroom poker of some kind, whether financial or regulatory?
@wendysiegelman nice to not every big company is bowing down.
@wendysiegelman This might be fake.
@johnn_bunyan @wendysiegelman It's not. It's all over the news and confirmed to be true.
@wendysiegelman I worked as a programmer for a large accounting firm. Everyone, even non-accountants, had to take multiple classes on identifying money laundering. Real estate and combined with a large number of complicated bank account relationships is a red flag. I have always assumed that when Trump sold condos in Panama to Russian oligarchs it was a dirty money scheme. Trump's cozying up to crypto follows the same pattern.
@glennsills @wendysiegelman
Part of getting a life insurance license is learning to spot money laundering. I think it ought to be on the bar too.
@wendysiegelman Kinda sad when Capital One thinks you're the shitty one in the relationship.
@wendysiegelman this article gives no detail on what was closed and why other than a mention of money laundering.. they give several quotes from the accused though. It sucks that Trump always has the biggest megaphone even in a situation like this.
@wendysiegelman used to be when you got laundering money you fled the country or went underground. Now you just sue the bank! Why didn't the Mafia ever think of that?

@wendysiegelman CapOne closed the accounts in 2021. Trump may be suing now (with a pretty frivolous suit) because CapOne is trying to get US gov regulatory approval to acquire Discover, which Trump could potentially block. Details:
