There are times when you must speak, not because you are going to change the opposing side, but because if you do not speak, they have changed you.

If you see something that you would normally speak up about, but then convince yourself it would be better for you to stay quiet, then you have indeed been changed... and not in a good way.
If the opposing side can get you to self-censor -- out of fear or hopelessness -- then they have won.
Speak up! Speak out! Resist!
