The game developer community on X has been thrown into chaos as an AI generated game (aka vibe coding) is now making $100K a month after a few days of effort.

It was made by Pieter Levels who’s a famous indie hacker who champions building simple moneymaking side projects.

“You hear that, Mr. Anderson? That is the sound of inevitability.” - Agent Smith, The Matrix (1999)

This Game Created by AI 'Vibe Coding' Makes $50,000 a Month. Yours Probably Won’t

fly.pieter.com was initially made in just 30 minutes with AI tools and is now generating thousands of dollars a month. The future of AI-assisted game development will not be that simple.

@carnage4life I find the income numbers he gives highly suspicious. I know people who have had hit advertising based games and they’re nowhere near this big. I suspect he’s lying to get more followers.
@carnage4life ah, the classic Rick Rubin approach.
@carnage4life I tried vibe coding recently on a little side project. It went hilariously badly. I develop LLMs for a living. I have every reason to believe the hype. But I think that people claiming it works on Twitter are lying.
@carnage4life if the hype is real, wonder what happens when a billion people can develop a game a day.
