Iridium, I never said I was working class. Rather, I find psephology fascinating.
On the point of folks 'pretending to speak for' the working class, mate, most US minority groups cultivated as, essentially, livestock by the Left over decades thought the Left didn't speak for them last year.

As far as I can see, the only thing you do online is try to shut down all left-wing activism with an endless stream of Whataboutism which nicely aligns with your employer's mission.
I'd recommend seeking a more constructive approach to advancing your interests, when you get tired enough of being blocked by everyone.

I’m not trying to shut down anything at all. In fact, I don’t block anyone. I find it ironic when I get blocked by people condemning others for uncivil behaviour despite my being perfectly civil in my tone and content.
In the immediate conversation, I’m only trying to understand the reasoning for the seeming psephological ineptness of the Left in the US. Mate, I was as surprised as the Democrat headquarters about the 2024 result and the sheer quantity of the swing to Trump across identity groups.
I love psephology and to thus engage constructively with the Left to understand their political thinking and techniques.
Oh, and I’m trying to understand the hypocrisy of the Left on speech and rule of law matters where people who claim to be progressive and say ‘words are violence’ and call for ‘trigger warnings’ but then say it is perfectly reasonable to condone the atrocities of October 7 or vandalise other people’s property. That’s another conversation, but thank you for following my work.
By the way, I do write about software supply chain security and its regulation, as well as cyber policy more generally. Check out my Substack: https://atechnolegalupdate.substack.com/p/tangos-in-the-tangled-web
@me_valentijn @bananarama @ai6yr Re comments on my employer, assuming you are referring to ASPI, I’m not sure how advocating for Taiwan, Ukraine, pro-democracy folk in Hong Kong, a strong Australian military and DIB, Uighurs, and indeed the international law of the sea is apparently antithetical to progressive thinking.
But there you go.

He works for an Australian government think-tank which primarily investigates Chinese tech and/or government influence. Their American funding has not-so-mysteriously dried up under the Musk/Trump administration, so I guess he has some spare time now.
Quite curious that he's stanning for the guys who are destroying his job. Maybe he's hoping they'll unfreeze his salary funds if he licks the boot thoroughly enough? 🤷♀️
