@serge Have you seen any discussions on using LLMs as an accessibility technology? There are a few big ethical problems and I've seen some people say they have big QoL improvements from it's use.

@tailscale Hi, I'm part of a FOSS team that uses Codeberg instead of Github for our organization. I'm currently self-hosting headscale and I plan to use it to help provide affordable access to hardware development resources for our devs and CI.

I suppose this is to say that if you have another target for your FOSS deal, we'd love for it to be Codeberg :)

@evan Are you aware of any not-for-profit domain registrars in Canada?

@saskboy @jeffcliff How much do indigenous issues come up in Saskatchewan?

It's incredible to see how much First Nations artwork and community organizations have flourished in Thunder Bay. Winnipeg seems to have had a similar boom based on my last visit. It's a big deal here, and the rest of the province is missing out IMO.

@jeffcliff I've been thinking about Can-con requirements. It's actually incredible how relatively little it costs to majorly change people's demand wrt music consumption.

Markets seem to be a bad model for music consumption. People seem to consume and enjoy what they're familiar with.

I wonder what would happen if we had some kind of "diversity" requirements. If there was some requirement to expose folks to a diverse array of music on radio, etc.

Communists going from dangerous to annoying internet pedants must be among the greatest successes of the US

@GreenFire I've been looking into a DC house. The residential electrical codes are not made for DC, but I think it's possible to do it safely.

Most systems can be done with PoE (lighting, security, internet) and a lot of appliances can be trivially converted to use DC power.

@jeffcliff Joplin seems like the only open-source alternative to Obsidian. Unfortunately, it's written in JS which means I am unlikely to ever contribute to it. I think I might try to write a note-taking and knowledge visualization application with Pijul as the back-end.

@jeffcliff

Did you see this?

I want to get a pride jersey to spite this shit and in support of folks here, especially since the Staals were specifically named. Ideally it would not provide any money towards the NHL.

NHL banning 'cause-based' jerseys next season | CBC Sports

NHL teams won't wear special jerseys for pregame warmups during themed nights next season, the result of a handful of players refusing to use rainbow-coloured Pride jerseys this past season and causing unwelcome distractions.

I have come to understand that positivity is like social lubricant. You wouldn't expect anything to run properly and bearings may seize if you don't lube them. Same goes for positivity, in most circumstances.

Also being depressed and grouchy suck and it can help with that too, particularly gratitude and working hard to experience joy in response to things that analytically go well but don't meet my subjective expectations.
