I haven't been as active here yet as I was over on the Bird Site, but those who followed me over from there will know that each year I attempt--usually with far less success than my REAL fast!--a "partial Social Media fast," in which I refrain from the debates & anger of this dunya during #Ramadan, and try to limit my posts & interactions to providing, forwarding, or reacting to commentary on the day's juz of the #Quran.

The sun is beginning to set here, so It's that time again. For my non-Muslim followers, I'd encourage you to stick around, and perhaps learn some more about the faith shared by approximately a fifth to a quarter of the world's people! As I often say, only the devil stands to benefit when believers are too busy giving EACH OTHER the side-eye to be watching out for his deceptions!

For my fellow Muslims, may this blessed month be a month of tranquility, guidance, reflection on Allah's Book, and good deeds. 🤲

Ramadan Mubarak!

@EINS_Institute اللّٰه الكريم يبارك فيك وينوّر دربك.
It made me so so happy to know that you're a musilm and that you're writing about the month of Ramadan, may Allah bless you and يثبّت قلبك على الإيمان 🤲🤲

@QuranKareem Thank you, Brother, and the same to you! I should probably re-create my old Twitter thread on my reversion story here, because it's a great illustration of both the wisdom and the inscrutability of Allah's plans!

While I have technically only been a Muslim for six years, it's a journey that began half a century ago, when my dad returned from Saudi Arabia (where he'd been recruited to be an international personnel consultant by two of his former students at the University of Arkansas) bearing a two-volume Yusuf Ali Qur'an, which holds a place of honor on #MyMuslimBookshelf to this day--and runs through 9/11 and the Pentagon, with appearances by shuyukh such as the late Yusuf Al-Qaradawi, Hamza Yusuf, and Muhammad Al-Yaqoubi. Ma sha' Allah.

@EINS_Institute اللّٰه الكريمُ الرَّحيم يبارك فيك وأهلك وينوّر دربك 🤲🏼
