@rolle Good idea - we should do the same in Canada

Go fuck yourself, Nazi scum.

@scubblybee @rolle

I strongly suggest blocking this 'person'.

@rolle Never clicked something so fast.
@rolle
I'd sign if I could. Ten years ago, I could have.
@rolle Banning things has never worked.
@rolle You could just burn phones with x installed on them. just saying

@rolle this should not be on change.org.

The EU has an official platform to bring proposals to the European parliament (1) and they have to debate, or at least answer them if they pass a threshold number of signatures.

Yes, only eu citizens can sign, and they need an electronic id, this increases the friction to participate, but it has so much more power!

Petition the EU

Individuals or organisations in the EU can submit petitions to the EU on issues related to EU policy or law. Find out how to create, sign and when to submit one.

@Muzzle @rolle

This makes a lot of sense. Why would the EU accept a petition filled with signatures from non-EU citizens?

@rolle I wish I could sing it, maybe when I see how Ukrainian war ends (if ends), I'm going to give USA a chance.

Problem is, European media/governments are not better than X, Trump, or name it, so it is a bit complicated to trust anyone. Get ready for whatever and keep open eyes, we will see. Truth is, we can fvck X, Facebook or whatever without government help.

@rolle It's not a petition for a ban, but for its regulation.

It'd rather sign a petition for the EU official accounts to move off X/Twitter/Facebook etc. This is also currently suggested in Canada.

this is absolutely delusional. The majority of EU's countries and government institutions use twitter for communication with their citizens, without providing any alternative methods. I for example have no clue what my president is saying, because it's paywalled by twitter.
@rolle Wouldn’t we be better off contacting our MEPs? Have online petitions ever achieved anything?
@rolle this should be a proper petition on the EU parliament website
