@aparrish 😂🤣🙃

Corollary number 72 to Betteridges Law.
With just a little work I found a book review claiming (then Macromedia) "Flash® is here to stay and, from what I am hearing, it gets even easier to use with each product update."
Also found what appears to be an AI content farm telling me "All in all, Macromedia Flash 8 is *one of the best tools* for designers." (With *bold* and with a big green check mark next to "Security Status" and below the "Download" button.)
@GoodNewsGreyShoes @mia @aparrish Like it or not, capitalism is here to stay.
(Have I jinxed it? I really hope I jinxed it.)
Manufacturing consent. For the oligarchy, not for the wellbeing of the general public. :/
@nev Thank you!
@GoodNewsGreyShoes @aparrish This is the same form of corpropaganda that starts lines with "In the future, we will..."
Which always means, "In the future, I want you to buy my ..."
@GoodNewsGreyShoes @aparrish Most of tech journalism isn't. And hasn't been for years.
(I'm old enough to remember when ZDNet's PC Magazine did its annual printer review issue and the page count magically doubled to make room for all the printer ads they'd sold and there was absolutely no influence on editorial content at all. Nosiree.)
There's always -ALWAYS- an option.
Impermanence is the default. I feel _really_ comfortable asserting this.
If a marketing entity can convince consumers to just accept whatever new product they're shilling as "normal", it's FAR easier to hedge those consumers into spending money "that you'll probably end up spending anyways, somewhere down the line!🤗"
"Act fast! These LOW prices will SURELY rise as everyone else jumps on this bandwagon that definitely exists (Trust me! Like it or not!)!!😱💸🔥" 🙄🤮
@GoodNewsGreyShoes
Oh after the 3D TV wave went away, we bought a box full of chinese 3D glasses for cheap-ass on ali express and took them to a Metal festival. We were a big group of people, everybody put one on and then we went in front of the stage.
And when someone asked why we have them on, we replied "Because I want to see the band in 3D!"
I can tell you it's not that easy to pull that off with a straight face...

The old Persian saying.
"This too, shall pass (away)."
Nothing is permanent, us or things good or bad.
