@VeroniqueB99

I TOTALLY agree with Kara. I want to be stable and help others. πŸ’―

Someone online was like, "y'all hate billionaires but you want to be rich."
No, no, no. I want enough money to be stable in my modest little life and be able to be generous with others.
I don't want oppress workers and obliterate the planet money.

@boo_ @VeroniqueB99
Wouldn't mind if it was from a passive income so I could do whatever the hell liked. And some charity work.
@robertpi @boo_ @VeroniqueB99 passive income = rent seeking...

@ryanjyoder
It was a bit of a tongue in cheek comment.

Although there's something of a paradox that passive income isn't a good thing, but neither is being required to work just meet basic needs of staying alive.

Guess this means that universal income would be a very good thing.

@VeroniqueB99 And btw. the difference from "being rich" as we understand it and being a billionair should someone make clearer to him.
Like:
1Million seconds = 11 days, 13 hours, 1 min and 57seonds
1Billion seconds = almost 32 years

Quite a difference. 🀨

@grootinside yeah which means he *should* be smart enough to know that real things like, more time on earth, or best health ever etc... he can't buy. He can buy a doc 24/7 and things of that nature but that's it. πŸ€·β€β™€οΈ
@VeroniqueB99 Exactly. Corey Taylor said it best: "I don't wanna have it all. I just wanna have enough!" (30/30 - 150 by Stone Sour)
@VeroniqueB99 I don't wanna be rich, that's a hassle
I do however want myself and everyone else (this includes black people, LGBTQIA+ people, and also women) to have enough money to live a comfortable happy life free of worries
@Rana πŸ₯° πŸ‘
@Rana @VeroniqueB99
I agree with that, and what I've strived for.

@VeroniqueB99 My favorite fortune cookie of all time:

"He is richest who has what he needs."

@VeroniqueB99 I want to have enough. Then I can quit work and start eehhh... tooting about cycling or something #FIRE
@VeroniqueB99 People who claim that we are just jealous of billionaires are saying far more about themselves than they know.
@gpilz ...projection much? πŸ˜‰ πŸ‘
@VeroniqueB99 I don't want to be rich, I want to be free from precarity. And I want that for everyone.
@VeroniqueB99 yeah but you’d rather be rich than poor
@theearthisapringle this doesn't say poor... or a billionaire.
@VeroniqueB99 I’m not wrong
There also isn’t a clear line between what people will and won’t do for money, but it’s ridiculous to claim that people in general don’t want more money
And btw it’s possible to make money without being horrible and exploitive
@theearthisapringle I think the study was 75k/yr. Salary covering bills that would make people less stressed about money.
@VeroniqueB99 I want to be a billionaire that's not that hard and I need stress so I be praying my clients pay, I would sit down with billionaires...
@VeroniqueB99 how about a system where there is no money and because of that there is far less labor required and we’re able to meet the needs of all people.
@VeroniqueB99 I don't think I even want the concept of "rich" to exist.
@taylor 😜 πŸ‘
@VeroniqueB99 I'd love to hear some numbers attached to this. Most rich people don't know they're rich. The global top one percent in income earn about $45k/year. If everyone made that much money we'd need to more than triple global GDP. Not to mention that the people I hear making statements like this want more than $45k/year.
@ryanjyoder Isn't $75k the yearly salary after which there's no longer any 'happiness' difference?
Also isn't the top 1% Bezos/Zuck/Gates etc?
@VeroniqueB99 there's a lot of poor people in the world.
@VeroniqueB99 @musevg In a world where all are equal, nobody needs to be rich. In a reality where people choose to be governed by some who are greedy and strive for an autocratic system, there's a sore temptation by many to get into the winning class.
@VeroniqueB99 Or let’s abolish money. We want Star Trek
