@exec Quite a lot of these kinds of boards have Intel NICs so I'd expect decent 2.5G speed. For what it's worth, I have this network card and this switch, both from AliExpress, and together they do give me ~2.2Gbps for ssh transfers.

Apparently the four SSDs share a PCIe3 x4 slot...

@exec It's very probably a limitation of the CPU. The N100 has a total of 9 lanes. Probably the N305 too.
Edit: are x8 M.2 slots even a thing?
