@iainthomson @chetwisniewski i dont get why people say that - unless you care about the public firehose from the server, it doesnt really matter what server youre on.
@Viss @iainthomson There are a few other factors, but I agree. Some don't federate with Threads, others have strict blocklists that may or may not align with everyone's viewpoints.
@chetwisniewski @iainthomson sure, but there used to be this 'prevailing advice' about how you have to meticulously pick your server 'because reasons' and most of those had nothing to do with the actual user experience, unless you actually care about the public firehose.
Thomas Reed@Viss @chetwisniewski @iainthomson Yeah, I absolutely never look at the local or federated timelines. I just look at the timeline of what the folks I follow post. That’s more than enough content to keep you busy and informed/entertained.
It doesn’t really matter what server I’m on… though I do appreciate being on one run by @jerry, who does an excellent job. 🙂
