@diraquel @danwalsh @lmgenealogy IMHO, I think the whole “Trump praising” thing was taken out of context and over exaggerated to a large degree. I wouldn’t disregard what is otherwise an awesome company pushing privacy-respecting products to the masses because of an out-of-context personal tweet from a single individual. His intentions were positive even if poorly worded.
With that said, if you’re going to completely write off Proton then Tuta is an awesome alternative.
@lmgenealogy @danwalsh @diraquel Absolutely, I completely agree!
It’s also good to use self-hosting as an alternative, when possible.
It’s a bit tricky with email which is why I mainly use Proton Mail but for other things I don’t rely on any cloud service. For photo backup, as an example, I use Immich hosted on my own server.
@diraquel I recommend Tuta or infomaniak.
Proton is also in the same line but a message favourable to the new American investiture was made on one of the official channels of the American subsidiary.
Apologies, after deletion, were published indicating an individual error and a desire to avoid political subjects in the future.
It's good to know that.
@lmgenealogy I don't know how you see it from your end, but in theory if you click on the publication or the date (example Feb 02) you should see the replies if there are any.
Replies from other servers could be missing but visible via "Show more replies on [initial instance of the post]".
And it goes through URLs so clickable len.
@diraquel I use Proton. Though with the recent issues I’m debating that.
