My quilt project took a slight detour because my sewing machine broke! I now have a fancy schmancy new one that sews soooo smooth and quiet. I was actually able to do chain piecing for the first time because I trusted the fees dogs not to jam. What a concept!
My flying geese blocks came out pretty wonky. I didn't do a very good job cutting the pieces. Once I had a strip of fabric, subcutting was easy, but getting the first width-of-fabric strip was tricky for me.
Aaaand done. The quilt is actually nearly perfectly square, but somehow the interior got off-kilter so it looks a little diagonal. The straight line quilting I did also highlights how not-aligned the sashing is. But I learned a lot, and this is hands-down the best binding job I've ever done. I'm very pleased with this, and I hope my friend loves it too!
