Righty, before one of us takes an actual axe to a Google device, and I think it might be Kat before it is me... anyone here have recommendations for some "button" device that works well with #HomeAssistant.

I am aware there may be some things don't even need batteries in the buttons/switches, which will talk to a hub... so something like that that HA can grok would be nice so we can just have a physical button that I can set up to toggle lights/etc in HA. Buttons that could be stuck to the wall, or just sat on desks, etc.

Cheap too, ideally cheap. Don't want much do I? 😅

(I don't have the time right now to be trying to work out the alternative voice recognition stuff, it'll happen... but right now I want a trivial solution to prevent a Googlcide... not that I am against Googlcide, we have a long term plan/hope to fully eliminate it.)

@yvan I have a number of Ikea buttons https://www.ikea.com/fr/fr/p/styrbar-telecommande-connecte-blanc-30488363/
They work pretty fine with HA.
Also zigbee, but just plug a USB dongle on your HA server, like skyconnect, and you got your zigbee hub

@benoit_badrignans decent price on those too, even in the UK (£12)

I'm feeling like ZibBee is my most likely route, there are a lot more options for it and other things I could do too like door sensors/etc.
