Some media outlets get it; some are still carrying water for their dictator

Here’s what they’re not telling you:

This is worded in a way to exclude anyone.

They can end SNAP, WIC, Section 8, federal student loans…even subsidies to farmers if a trade war destroys their business

That’s what half this country voted for

🇺🇸

@flexghost if at least half the country had voted at all, things might look different.
@hllizi half the voting public is half of America if these idiots didn’t turn out to vote looks like the people who did show up represent them

@flexghost

This EO is illegal and violates 1974 Impound Act provisions.

Trumpo can spew any lies and shit he want, but no one has to believe it , or do it and just challenge it(lawfare).

@yuhasz01 he has already violated how many laws including some that are fundamentally constitutional? It doesn’t matter anymore

@flexghost None have been in court yet, where some will be overturned....Trumpo can say anything he wants and 'try" to do illegal EOs. Saying your fired is a Trump reality TV stunt which some peopel will consent to without thinking.

He will not prevail in Federal court for most of his EO actions...takes time to file legal work and get in front of a judge.

@yuhasz01 oh? I’m so glad. Were saved. Yay.
@flexghost In politics and economics one is either part of the problem to solve, or part of the solution to attempt to mitigate or solve it. No optimism needed, nor required....it is a process.
The current American fascist admin requires either our consent or silence: grant them neither.

@yuhasz01 @flexghost I wish I had your optimism. He will just try to appeal it until it goes to the supreme Court, whom half of which can't read the constitution at all, and were bought and paid for.

The chances of the courts somehow saving us are low. You might want to consider plans to save ourselves.

@yuhasz01 @flexghost The problem is that even if these are reversed on appeal, those grants were still delayed. That means people (students, employees, researchers, institutions, and individuals needing assistance) will not be paid until that point. And in the meantime, he can dismantle/degrade the systems that enable those grants. If it takes years for a student loan to be approved, the student can't pay for college in the meantime (without predatory private loans, which is likely the point).
@flexghost
We need to overthrow this facist takeover before we reach the point of no return. They are trying to kill the people they see as not equivalent or necessary. It's going to be genocide, most won't see it that way. People are already dying.
@flexghost scary, but only about 22% of the population voted for him

@wifsten of the population? Werid number. So we’re counting babies

If you didn’t vote you vote voted. Simple as that. You sat on your ass and allowed this to happen it’s on you if you are over voting age

@flexghost Trump showed his feelings toward Congress, on Jan 6. 3 Branches of government, sure.

@flexghost I know it's a headline but I always want these to read "approved by Congress and signed by the president (or overrode a veto)".

It's not one branch vs another. They both play a role and one branch is trying to eliminate the role of the other.

The $400 million withheld from Ukraine in an attempt to produce a spurious announcement of investigation into Biden wasn't just "approved by Congress". Trump himself signed that appropriation bill then tried to selectively remove that line-item

Trump orders a funding freeze as his administration reviews federal loans and grants

The funding freeze takes effect at 5 p.m. Eastern on Tuesday. Even grants that have been awarded but not spent are supposed to be halted.

@flexghost
Withholding funds appropriated by Congress to pay for Javelin Missiles for #Ukraine was enough to impeach him the first time.

Now, he's withholding funds for THE ENTIRE GOVERNMENT. #AbortTheCourt

@flexghost Trump is striking Article One's title in the Constitution with his Sharpie, and its new title now reads, "Also Artickle Too."
