I never ever thought that so many countries would be struggling against Fascism, 80 years after the liberation of Auschwitz.
@kimlockhartga What's old is new again!
@kimlockhartga I hear you. The problem is that people haven’t changed. There’s been no evolution; only adaption. And adaption requires at minimum teaching every new generation of imbeciles “Don’t do that.”
Teaching basic critical thinking skills with respect to history is essential, and yet routinely discarded in favor of more competitive subjects, even in the most advanced countries.
So here we are. 🤷‍♂️
@CWilbur well-explained.
@kimlockhartga Thanks, but yeah it doesn’t solve the problem obviously. I had hoped that the covid pandemic would teach us all a few things, but clearly not enough.
You wait tho. With Kennedy in HHS, many many unfortunate outcomes for the uneducated become “possible”. We don’t know how this will end, but keeping yourself and your loved ones as safe and healthy as possible (along with #resistance) is still a winning strategy.
@kimlockhartga It's depressing is what it is. Feels like when a generation of people are no longer around to tell of their lived experience their stories are all too easily forgotten.
@kimlockhartga that's because our allies were the lesser of two evils (ie fascist Russia)
@kimlockhartga
I never thought we'd be live-streaming genocides.
@kimlockhartga That's because it was never destroyed. It went underground and has been actively undermining democracy ever since, until it got strong enough to come out in public again.
