Some highlights from this week’s modeldrawing sessions. Longest poses where just 15 minutes this time. I would love to have longer poses, but the idea of a sketch having to be fresh and “pure” is very dominant here. I’m gessing it’s older artists that shun the idea of practice and study or maybe they have it all already figured out and just want to pump out as many drawings in a short time as possible. Like little factories.

I went to the first life drawing sessions this year. Still trying to figure out some things with digital painting in this. I feel I have to get more accurate with getting the colors and tones before I can better look for the design of shapes and the treatment of edges. In that regard, I regressed a little over the break.

I was hesitant to publish last weeks results because, frankly, I was a bit ashamed of how these turned out. That said, I do think that being in the flux of suck makes change and progress happen.
