Aurora is really an incredible model - she doesn't stay in the center of the studio but moves around, climbing on furniture and using the artists' tables as support for poses. Fun and challenging! That is why the first page shows a very close perspective, as she uses my drawing board to rest her arm.

David Hockney said: "A lot of people don't look very hard." However, last night a lot of people - 19! - turned up for our life drawing session in #Eynsham, #Oxfordshire That's a lot of people looking very hard - and the most we have ever had at one session! 😮

The next session, and last one before the summer break, is Wednesday 1 July at 7pm (arrive at 6.45pm to settle in).

The last portrait session was two hours of nothing working out. Three different angles, five attempts, every attempt looked different. The model had distinctive features and profile so it would have been easy. Profile was a complete failure. Front on started well and I felt like I was getting somewhere but ended up with a random face that at least captured the lighting of the scene. I guess that's a win of sorts. #LifeDrawing #Portrait
