The very worst thing about this anti-DEI BS is that their implication is that anyone who isn't a white male was probably an incompetent person hired only to make the diversity numbers look good. In most cases the opposite is true, they are overqualified while Black, or women, or gay or whatever.
This is white supremacy gearing up to fire women and minorities and then not hire any in the future. Economic warfare by excluding people using demographics.

I’m seeing people freak out about the civil rights act being dismantled, and that’s awful, but y’all have to understand that that didn’t stop anyone from discriminating against women or minorities ever. It just meant they couldn’t tell you to your face, but now that they can tell us to our face we will have to boycott them. So they might think this will help the corporations but it’s just going to force them to show their ass.
I mean you guys know they’ve been discriminating this whole time right? They just can’t say it to your face that’s all, women never got mandatory equal pay. EVER. So I don’t know what people are crying about, let these people put women and blacks need not apply right in their employment ads. Let them. At least you know who not to give your money to.
Discrimination was happening. You are right that far. It probably was happening at a slower pace, because it gave power to people who didn’t want to discriminate that had bosses that did. “But boss, these are the rule we have to follow.”
So the change will be palpable.

I'm pretty sure that most discrimination happens without saying it out loud. And "code words" are often used.

@betalars I don't think until I read that , that I'd fully understood how scary the new administration is. I'm from the UK and I've never lived abroad. Our govt does some shady stuff but we do also have a fairly reliable legal system that would prevent this sort of stuff, so its really hard to imagine what it's like being in a country where you don't have that sort of protection for civil rights.
edit: you can all stop replying about the EHCR now. That wasn't the point of what I was getting at
@tiny_m I'm in germany and the only thing I keep thinking is I am so thankful the Americans made sure to really and thoroughly future-proof our constitution and I'm completely dumbfounded as to why they didn't proof theirs like at all.

@jonn @GossiTheDog we’ve been getting those up in New Hampshire for years. It’s weird as hell they put a flyer in a little plastic bag with some rocks so it doesn’t fly away and they just leave them places.
