For me it’s gotta be the Mac. I prefer iOS and watchOS, but I could life an Android/wearOS life and be pretty happy. Maybe I’m just old, but I love the Mac so freaking much.
@matt feel entirely the opposite, l could live with an expensive PC laptop and a Linux installation, but it pains me to think about using Android, let alone a wearOS watch Phone and Watch are such personal devices. It would break my brain.
@matt I said the iPhone, because I am deeply entrenched, and it’s so useful. Plus, although the Mac is terrific, I can successfully operate Linux like a boss
@matt Oh yeah, 100% the Mac for me as well. It covers such a wide range of use cases and I can see it supplanting every other device I own.

@matt android is almost feature complete with iOS these days. We don’t really need much of what the watch gives us. Linux is compelling but still hard on the edge cases. Go edit a podcast and put in chapter art…I will wait..

Have to keep the Mac

@matt Same, but I don’t think I’d want to use another phone and I already use another PC (and dabbled with Linux a bit over break).

So, can’t live without, unclear. Favorite? Easily the Mac.

@matt Tough call for me between the phone and the tablet. I can live with Linux for my desktop. Haven't used a modern Android phone but the ones I see seem like they'd generally suck.
@matt I already made this choice and kept the Mac (reluctantly)
@nirak If I could use a Mac at work I think my answer would change to that one. But I'm stuck on Windows here, and my at-home computing is a much smaller % of my overall desktop computing time.
@cjhubbs I have a Mac for both work and home, which is really convenient. I know from experience that switching primary os's every day is confusing, even after I remap my shortcuts
@nirak I somehow usually manage to keep them mostly straight, but after a couple weeks off at xmas spending more time on my personal MacBook, I came back to work and started trying to use Alt-C/Alt-V for copy/paste. _sigh_
@cjhubbs I tried to switch back to windows at home a few years ago and it was awful. I ended up giving that laptop to my partner and getting another Mac :/
@nirak I finally got my partner to move over to a Mac so now we're a full-Apple household other than the kid's gaming PC.

@cjhubbs gaming is the main thing that keeps my partner on windows. I do pull out that old Windows laptop I got to play a game that's not available on Mac too from time to time

It's getting better, but there's still a lot out there that's windows only unfortunately

@matt Missing the ability to vote for Apple TV… :)

@matt I would keep my Mac and continue to upgrade it, buy newer ones. Desktop that is.

I can do without an iPhone and iPad, a basic flip phone will do but I would buy a better camera as that is the main function I use now.

Ideally, I would go back to my Nokia Communicator, that is still my favourite mobile I have ever owned. I feel so stupid doing away with it.

@matt Keep the Mac and cry at the loss of my iPhone
@matt I'd keep my iPad Pro. It, along with Procreate, is a great drawing experience. I can easily make do without the rest (I do have a Mac and an iPhone, but gave my partner my Series 5 Watch and got a Garmin Forerunner 255 instead).
@matt unpopular opinion: I could find an alternative for pretty much every plattform. Except for AppleTV/tvOS. That’s the central device of my life. Can’t live without.

@matt Mac. Easily. It’s muuuch better than the alternatives to me, but I think iPhone is just a little better.

‘Objectively’ speaking the answer should probably be iPad due to Google’s lackluster investment in Android tablet.

@matt Where is keep the Apple Vision Pro?
@tchaten Were there only more options! I take it this is your write-in vote?
@matt I think so! Although iPad and Apple Watch would be tough to loose too!
@matt I love the Mac but I feel like I could get along fine, err, ok with a Linux machine. And the iPhone is my constant companion. My desktop is my once-the-kids-are-asleep machine.
@matt That was harder to answer than I expected.
@NateBarham haha right?! Like I truly value my iPhone and wouldn't want to go to Android, but if push came to shove, I could deal with an Android phone easier than Windows or Linux.
@matt I keep the Mac. Android phones are “fine”. Windows PCs suck. I could use Linux, I suppose but I just like the Mac better.
