LionelBI have a fancy new tablet which brings out the startling quality of my phone camera. Going through my camera album to pick out some of the best to transfer, this was the one that resonated most.
This coach interior was crafted by skilled workers who formed a community, over a long period of time. They made something of beauty and solidity but also hinted at the opulence and style of a Paris boudoir or a Hungarian castle. They brought a little fantasy, a dream, to mill workers and railway guards. People like themselves.
This is the world of the art deco cinema. A glimpse of luxury, ease and (contrived) sun.
