us: come and visit a small independent quirky museum in london
bluesky moderation team: no that's porn
@vagina_museum to be fair, as prude as parts of the US have become, any mention of anything related to sex and reproduction can probably be considered porn over there... educational or not. In my eyes the US is a highly absurd society.
@martinschlegel @vagina_museum unless you're selling beer, guns or CyberTrucks, then porn is the American way!

@pixelpusher220
Boobs are not porn. Unless you can see the nipple, in which case they’re totally porn, unless you think the person with the nipples doesn’t have vagina in which case they’re totally not porn. But if the nipples look like they belong to someone who has a vagina, even though the person might not have a vagina, then the nipples are probably porn.

It really couldn’t be simpler.

When Does Instagram Decide a Nipple Becomes Female?

By documenting her transition every week on Instagram this artist shows the absurdity in how Instagram and AI classify gender and the human body.

I just want to say, assuming from your profile that you ARE a man, it gives me tremendous hope to see even a man understand the absurd sexism and misogyny of gender-based censorship, aka topless equality. I've been making videos and posts trying to raise awareness about it for a decade and the nudist crowd (first in Twitter, now in bluesky) keep passing links to my content back and forth as a youngish, female representation of "social nudity," completely ignoring that the point of my activism is TOPLESS EQUALITY, not showing genitals, which is an entirely separate issue that does NOT privilege one gender over another (though it seems likely that American society will normalize full body nudity before they ever simply give the same rights to go topless to all genders not just men)

May I post a screenshot of your comment to my Topless equality Instagram account? I can censor your name if you like ❤️

I don't need anonymity. Please screenshot away and share as much as you like.

I'm trying to do my part. I've got all the privilege: old, white, male, cisgendered, straight. You name it, I've got it. If I can make some other people's lives better, by amplifying their perspectives, great. I just want everybody else to get the same benefits of the doubt that everyone gives me.

Better than my opinions being good, I've tried to do my part by raising 3 likeminded sons. Those 3 young men (2 in college, one in high school) have a wide variety of LGBTQ+ friends, respect pronouns, and support those friends. I'm prouder of that accomplishment than I am of getting my own viewpoint right.

@toplesstopics @paco @pixelpusher220 @martinschlegel @vagina_museum I have often said that Scotland will not be a civilised country until anyone of any age or gender can walk naked from one side of Glasgow to the other without anyone making any comment.

I appreciate that this, too, it tangential to your issue, but our cultural fear of breasts is only an extension of our cultural fear of the body.

@simon_brooke

No it's not, though. Fearing genitals is rooted in puritanical thinking. ONLY giving people who "look male" the right to go topless in public and online is rooted in misogyny. These are not the same things.
