New idea: Want to contribute to a Fediverse-sourced #AOTY list, that includes your top album (or 3) of the year, where "top" is however you define it - favorite, most listened to, most personally important, etc. - and "of the year" does not necessarily mean the album was released in 2024, just was key in your 2024 listening, and you think others might dig it? If so, drop album name(s) below! If people like this idea, I might make it a special-edition post/sub-list for the #1001OtherAlbums blog.

Happy solstice, y'all! Just to update on our Fediverse #AOTY list, we currently have around 90 albums, contributed by 36 Fedizens, with only a couple repeats! There's still plenty of time to figure out your picks (max 3!) if, say, you* have to do a Genesis deep dive first and want to leave room for them just in case. I'm planning on posting the full list on New Years(ish), so that leaves us with just over a week. Hope you join in!

@buffyleigh @1001otheralbums.com very cool. I did not know Arcwelder put out a new album. They were a favorite of mine in the 90s. I still have all their cds.

@puffer @buffyleigh @1001otheralbums.com OMG! And mixed by J Robbins! I once was the sole audience member at an Arcwelder show in DC. They were like, "we weren't going to bother, but we can play some music if you want" and proceeded to kill it, just for me! They did a great cover of "Public Image". "I Promise Not To Be An Asshole" became an all time favorite after hearing it that night.

@boxspring @buffyleigh Funny. I saw hem in NYC at Brownies on Ave A on a I think a Sunday night and I think there were no more than a dozen or so people at the show. And they were great. “All Mixed Together” is an all timer.
