Wild video shows Tesla Cybertruck on fire outside Trump hotel — as Elon rings in New Year with Don

People were quick to pick up on the irony of a vehicle by Musk’s company going up in flames in front of the 64-story luxury building co-owned by Trump.

@tweetsjen @kurda256 @TodayInTwitter Holy shit, someone died.

@alexlubertozzi sadly it’s not the first time people have died in Tesla accidents. This is why Elon sided with Trump, there are numerous lawsuits against him for various reasons. I expect Elon gets a pardon and deregulates the automotive industry and SEC.

@kurda256 @TodayInTwitter

@kurda256 yes, it's real.

not enough information to know why it happened yet, just that it did.

@TodayInTwitter
Thank you for your post.
Beautiful fireworks. Happy New Year, despite trump. Resist.

Peace

@TodayInTwitter

welcome to 2025, a harbinger of things to come

it's not humorous, a #cybertruck burning in front of a #trump tower, because it's being investigated as #terrorism- there was an explosion, 1 dead and 7 wounded. no one knows if the explosion was generated by the cyberstuck or by a bomb, as of yet

however, this reaction from a witness: "It was like a boom-boom-boom, and it almost sounded like a rolling garbage dumpster"

the trump dumpster fire made manifest, courtesy of #musk

@benroyce @TodayInTwitter Lots of similar clips on Threads and Bluesky, and for all I know, X. Symbolic start to 2025 and the TrumpMuskovian administration coming to power later this month. Hail King Eloon and Prince Donnie!
@benroyce @TodayInTwitter OMG. If that turns out to be mechanical vs terrorism, that poor family. Not only the tragedy of losing a loved one in a car fire, but under the scrutiny of it being a Telsa Cybertruck and the added enhancement of a major terrorism investigation. Happening at a Trump tower/property is the spoiled cherry on top

@paul @TodayInTwitter

yeah, we can speculate, there's a number of angles here

but all of them are deeply symbolic

@benroyce @TodayInTwitter Yeah, I was just having a moment of reflection for the unsuspecting shitstorm that is about to hit a family.

@paul From surveillance video, it’s pretty clearly a/multiple fireworks going off inside the vehicle. Cause of fireworks going off and potential motivation if intentional completely uncertain.

Could have been anti-Musk/Trump political self-immolation, could have been intentional attempt at destruction that unintentionally killed the occupant, could

@benroyce @TodayInTwitter Its obvious its fireworks. Whether deliberate or bad luck, who knows. But come on already investigating as terrorism. Come on suspicious is the first and accurate start of an investigation.

@TodayInTwitter

"when not designing cars I like to collect racist meme coins, support apartheids and go ket ket ket all day" - Elon Musk who doesn't give a damn because frankly the US is not even his country

Fucked by the horse he rode in on

@TodayInTwitter now let’s change the expression from dumpster fire, to cybertruck fire.
@TodayInTwitter I didn't get it until I saw the news 3 posts down :D
@TodayInTwitter thanks so much for this…god bless you
@TodayInTwitter Save that pic for a future Year In Review piece.

@TodayInTwitter

appears there was a hot time at the old trump hotel in the wee hrs of the morning.

trump has declared this to be the 3rd attempt on his life even though he was at Maralardo.

@TodayInTwitter Musk wanted to make a vehicle for a futuristic world and the burning tesla truck certainly looks like a scene from some dystopian futuristic movie.
