As it’s the holidays, I’m reading Hogfather from Terry Pratchett, and for the first time in my life something’s inspired me to live-comment the experience. I’ll be doing so in this 🧵 - the first few posts will be rapid, as I’m 70 pages in, then it’ll become more real-time. #hogfather #TerryPrachett #hogswatch
@therealtrebitsch awww. (For background on Susan Death and the Death of Rats read Mort, Reaper Man and Soul Music, please. Also, if you like Susan read Thief of Time, but this book is recommend to ingest in parallel with lots of chocolates.)
@Pterry Don’t worry, I will. I’m working my way through all of the Discworld novels. Just finished Small Gods, also excellent
@therealtrebitsch yep. Can't recommend Jingo and Night Watch enough, though. I felt after reading those that they explained a lot about humans.
Also, the little girl with the matches in Hogfather is a reference to a fairy tale by Hans Christian Andersen (the guy us also responsible for e.g. the little mermaid).

@Pterry I’ve read Night Watch already (it was the first Discworld book I read, and although it was really good, it’s not a good first book - I will reread it at some point). Jingo is next on my list I think.

I know Andersen, although I’ve not read all of his books. Probably none since I was a kid
