So how *do you* string Christmas lights on a deck railing? I’ve always used ZIP ties but I’m thinking there’s gotta be a better way. I don’t wanna nail or staple. I’m all ears here.
@gedeonm I like my way. Don’t. It works every year. #humbug
@gedeonm my wife and I found the best way to do it: each year we organize a party at home for friends and their kids and everybody helps to make the tree, no more problem with the Christmas lights, they find a way😅
@gedeonm 3M hooks or winding the string around the banister
@atlassilent @gedeonm 👆I have had the outdoor command strip hooks for probably five years now with no problems. They are clear and not noticeable unless you are looking for them. Especially if you mount them under the rail.
@RichelleTrickel @atlassilent Might you have a link to those someplace?
@atlassilent @gedeonm @RichelleTrickel Whoa 😮
This makes me feel willing to hang Xmas lights on my house for the first time in my life.

@ccunning @gedeonm @RichelleTrickel
They’re super easy to work with. Just prep the surface and they’ll easily stay up for a couple years at least.

Or come down as soon as you take the lights down if you want. Just like the inside-use ones.

@ccunning @atlassilent @gedeonm I even use them around the windows of the house, and inside to string lights along the ceiling perimeter.
@gedeonm I’d probably just spiral the string around the railing with no fasteners.
@gedeonm I bought some magnetic clips this year. Not sure if magenta work for you, but it’s perfect on our end.
@gedeonm Duct tape. It also acts as a reflective surface to provide more festive illumination.
@gedeonm At our old house, I installed permanent hooks inside the porch.

@gedeonm

Wrap them around the railing?

@gedeonm Mostly just wrapped. A couple zap straps at key points.
