Siliceous ooze has a significant portion of silicone-based organic matter and is common on shores. Calcareous ooze has a significant portion of calcite-based organic matter. There is also a part of the ocean covered by red clay, which is mostly composed of sediment. Please take all this information with the context that I am not trained in this field!
