Real-life dystopia...

@breadandcircuses The World looks on the US with concern and pity, if not open hostility.

Nobody worth listening to is impressed in how America lives, it looks like a waking nightmare to us, those children.....ffs.....evil rules that land.

@Lazarou @breadandcircuses I am afraid that not true. In many other countries its worse.
@JosjeT @Lazarou @breadandcircuses It only took us 50 years to go from "America, the shining city on the hill" to "America, not as awful as some other countries".
@gpilz @JosjeT @Lazarou @breadandcircuses Strangely enough, the man who gave us the “shining city” story is the one who began the slow degradation of the American middle class with his “trickle down economics”. The rest is the history of the fall of a great nation that could have created opportunity for nearly all.
@bouriquet @JosjeT @Lazarou @breadandcircuses Looked at another way, the period starting with FDR and ending with Reagan could be considered a temporary aberration in a country that was designed, from the get go, to be run by the rich for the benefit of the rich.
@gpilz @bouriquet @Lazarou @breadandcircuses As it has been everywhere. But... We lived in an exceptional period so we know it is possible... To not live in a tyranny of the powerful. But... We need to unite and fight. And... Never become complacent. Put the powers that be back to the powers that were.
