@jo_the_hat
They also make a lot of money oppressing disabled and unemployed people in Australia through the jobseeker scheme (scam).
Fuck the salvos.
They sound awful. Now, because there are no citations in that picture, I have to duplicate the research to verify it.
Don’t buy into what was said in the toot. Research for yourself. The allegation is 10 years old and is not supported by the evidence.
@MaierAmsden @KnittingMittens @jo_the_hat
I wouldn’t consider Salvationists to be allies of the LGBTQ+ community. Their bible -based opposition to same-sex relations and relationships would make this impossible. But that doesn’t mean they discriminate in their services. I don’t accept that 10 year old evidence means they don’t care for the trans community, especially when there are examples of how they do. I believe from what I’ve seen that their charity is all-embracing.

"I wouldn’t consider Salvationists to be allies of the LGBTQ+ community. Their bible -based opposition to same-sex relations and relationships would make this impossible."
Nope. It's totally possible. They're just bigots. They like the bigoted parts of the Bible and reject the parts that teach humility, empathy and equality. It's a choice.
Not too sure where you got your toot from.
'the Salvation Army supports LGBTQ+ people:
Welcomes and serves
The Salvation Army says it welcomes and serves people regardless of sexual orientation, gender identity, race, religion, or ethnicity.'
And no I am not Salvation Army, in fact I follow no religion or religious group
Give to The Trevor Project instead (or at least in addition, to offset the hate [aka "Christian love"]).
@jo_the_hat but what about all the gay employees, I personally know many LGBTQ individuals who work for this.
Such a blanket statement is a bit absurd, isn’t it?
They are helping communities and people.
@mauvedeity @jo_the_hat do you have proof of this? In Australia they go out of their way to be inclusive I’m not a member and not religious but they fill in the gaps in govt services
@TheJamieDub1 @jo_the_hat they have a crraaazy expensive building in London to “support the General”
This is the problem with modern day charities. They always exist with an agenda. Then suddenly YOU'RE the asshole for saying you don't support a charity, because OTHERS don't research the issue.
@jo_the_hat I'm so glad all the malls in the SF/Bay area have banned bell ringers from their premises. I've had this for years and never had a chance to stuff one into a bell ringer's pot.
For those who have such things around them, please print and stuff away. Or better yet, complain to the location and get these people tresspassed. I'd love a video of the cops taking a Bellringing Karen in handcuffs.
let’s avoid reposting stuff with very obvious lies in it, we don’t really need to, especially when you can just pull up Wikipedia for a list of more accurate anti gay stuff they’ve doneAnd let's not forget their involvement in covering up paedophile members as discovered during the Australian Royal Commission into Child Abuse.
A typical religion based organisation... all love and charity on the outside, morally and ethically bankrupt on the inside.
