People defend #capitalism by saying “who takes the risk should reap the rewards” but really it’s who is ABLE to take the risk, and more risks you can afford, the more possibilities for rewards (and thus risks) you have.

Doesn’t sound so justified when you frame it the way it is.

@arzi Universal income would let anyone take risks, which is probably why there's so much opposition to the idea.

@sol_hsa @arzi

Universal Basic Income (UBI) under capitalism will still entail the exploitation of capitalism through the extraction of surplus value by the capitalists/corporations from the workers' labor. UBI isn't enough. Capitalism needs to be abolished and replaced with socialism, the collective control, and ownership of the means of production.

#Socialism #Capitalism #Workers

Right like a UBI program would genuinely be amazing and likely help a lot of people, but knowing the nature of business in the states and under capitalism as a whole it’s still not really enough and likely never will be for long it’s a bandaid if anything.

@Violet_Raven

I agree and history shows that the ruling classes claw back the gains of the working class eventually. The New Deal in the US was a reaction to the striking masses and gave so many benefits (albeit to white americans only) but all that has been long gone.

Capitalism must go.
