Misread "composable" as "compostable" in a programming context, and now I want to throw all my functions in a pile and turn them over with a pitchfork once in a while.
@kajord @futurebird this feels like a pretty good description of working in a legacy codebase tbqh
@kajord
From fork() to vfork() to pitchfork()

@kajord good coding practice is to have as little as possible reach garbage collection, by supplying an environment for composting instead. 🌱

when something is ready for composting, just throw it on the heap 🍂

and remember, bugs are a natural part of the coding ecosystem! leave them alone and let them do their job! 🐛

@kajord @lisamelton I think that's how machine learning works
@kajord You can make that compost faster if you add a few bags of chicken shit or good old bullshit to the mix.
@kajord I am a little concerned how you might react to when you are asked for idempotent functions
@kajord Compostable code is actually good architecture. Designed to be deprecated. Designed to break down or change and not poison code around it. Composable code should be compostable.
