@kottke I'm Canadian. I've always wondered if I could go to one of these places and buy a gun. If I did, and was stopped or used the gun, would I be charged with something?

I would suggest you search about murder rates in all these countries that imposes some restrictions on guns.
You might start with Brazil... Rio de Janeiro, first of all, where gun stores are not allowed (believe it, or not).

Yemen's rate of gun ownership is estimated at somewhere around 53 guns per 100 people.
The United States has an estimated 120.5 firearms per 100 people (highest anywhere in the world).
FWIW Yemen has no functional government.
