My son and I went to see #projecthailmary. I read the book, but my son knew nothing about the book or the movie except “It’s about a guy that wakes up in a spaceship with amnesia and has to find out why he’s there”. We both liked the movie a lot, which speaks volumes about how good the movie is. Absolutely recommend it.

Transgender women athletes are now excluded from the Olympics after the IOC agreed to a new eligibility policy It aligns with U.S. President Donald Trump’s executive order on women's sports ahead of the 2028 Los Angeles Games. The International Olympic Committee says “eligibility for any female category event at the Olympic Games or any other IOC event, including individual and team sports, is now limited to biological females.” Eligibility will be determined by "a one‑time SRY gene screening.” It is unclear how many, if any, transgender women are competing at an Olympic level.

I have a Hisense TV. At one point, it updated and “forgot” the setting to remember the last used input, and started sending me to its home screen. Drove me nuts until I found what was going on. Since I only use it with AppleTV and consoles, I removed the wifi configuration, and any other settings it had. And without internet, it now behaves. If I every buy a new “TV”, it’ll be one of those panels used for retail, without tuner and OS. #smarttv #hisense #enshittification

I honestly don’t get it: every US instigated intervention in Eastern Europe or the Middle East has had negative impacts in Europe: immigration waves, economic hardships, political and social crisis… yet some European countries (I’m looking at you, #Germany 😒) still support these, sometimes illegal, US interventions.
