I do not plan to dumb myself down in any way during the next four years. I will still read and write with the highest standards I can summon. Even if I'm the only guy left reading the likes of William Gaddis, Hannah Arendt, and Thomas Mann. But the next four years could be a lot lonelier for those of us who actually practice a certain baseline in everyday thinking. Then again I've always been an outsider.
