Microsoft invests heavily in OpenAI, scraps the whole internet, and builds one of the worst products, ignoring copyright issues.

Also, when someone tries to access their site from known VPN IP ranges, Microsoft provoes rules for thee but not for me:

@nixCraft blocking access to Windows 11 ISOs? They're doing you a favour tbh.

@nixCraft These bastards will do everything in their power to restrict you. What even is the justification for not being able to download a FREELY available ISO via VPN?

Email aliases are also under threat. Both GitHub and Apple don’t allow the use of email aliases when signing up for an account. Some lesser known aliases still fly but common ones get you a ban 🤬

@TintedKiwi I hate to break it to you, but duck mail works for GitHub...

@zstg Ok cool. At the time I tried a few domains from SimpleLogin and ProtonPass, all of those accounts were flagged within minutes of creation.

Similar situation with Apple, I couldn’t use any of those accounts on my devices, always got an iCloud login error despite working fine otherwise on icloud.com. Account created from my personal email address, logged in fine immediately.

Pretty much YMMV 🤷‍♂️

@nixCraft burglars have the best locks, I guess
@nixCraft Microsoft is just asking to go out of business ngl
@nixCraft I can't even tell if scraps is a typo for scrapes in this context.
@nixCraft Dude. Why the FUCK would you want to download *anything* from Microsoft!?!
@nixCraft You can normally solve that issue with an USA proxy and changing your time zone to one there.
@nixCraft «I will scrape yours but you can’t scrape mine»?
