The polio vaccine was made available in the mid 1950's, well over 50 years ago. I remember lining up with my siblings at the pediatrician's office to get the vaccine. I have elementary school friends with shriveled limbs from the disease. We were this close - - to eliminating the disease, as we did with smallpox.

@mizblueprint @gregggonsalves @Compassionatecrab I can still find the little circle of scars on my upper arm where they poked and poked and poked to apply that early polio vaccine. It was only later that the sugarcube delivery method came about.

@gregggonsalves Wut? I was one of the first not to get a Smallpox vax. 50 years ago was deliciously disease free because even kids who went to private schools (about 11% K-8) had parents who knew that vaccination all around simply make sense for everyone.

What's fucked science's reputation is the Sacklers and Private Equity. Profit and Oxycodone. US medicine used to run on donations, which is why St. Jude's is named after a saint.

We volunteered because we wanted a better America.

RFK Jr at the helm and Musk's efficiency cuts will achieve that.

The same will happen to Law, Administration, Defense, and Intelligence.

That is the tried and tested method of breaking a democracy.
