That was actually supposed to come across as funny and I hope I wasn't being too rude to anyone. But this legendary Emacs vs Vim topic like: "My editor is better than yours" "Emacs can't be good because it's not Vim" (or vice versa) you know all the old phrases that divide us as a group of human beings instead of connecting by saying "hey, it's good that there are different tools and what we've already created together with them!" But for my part, I'm happy to admit: I digitally grew up with Vim and when I try to work with Emacs I feel like a dyslexic who has a spelling test in front of him... maybe some Emacsers feel the same way with Vim? The main thing is that I have to leave my console as little as possible and I'm happy about every new suggestion and new software running on the command line." "May the command line be with you!"

@toot Don't ever apologize for being a nano user my friend.

@brentdev nano is super!
Every time I wrote crap into my .vimrc file, nano saved me! I love nano and rightly so nano is the default editor in (I think) most distros .. and I've already gone through a few, lol :D

.. and thank you for calling me 'friend'. By the way, this is my first conversation here :)

@toot ahh everyone on this little node is a friend....at least until proven otherwise. Welcome to the server, you chose one with a great admin team and most people are pretty open & chill. As far as emacs/vi... I've always been partial to vi but honestly couldn't care less what other people use. I'm a big fan of using whatever floats your boat and throws your hair back. The sad thing is there's always going to be folks who "need" you to know they think you're doing it wrong. Heck I'm sure we'll see at least one "Bluesky - The Mastodon Killer" post in the next week. I'll even call it ahead of time and say it'll probably be authored by someone who considers themselves an "innovator." It's just the way she goes.
@brentdev well strange time for the berryclub ... strange times
