Reading about the state of science on standing desks. Most people just don't get a meaningful amount exercise from standing, so it doesn't help.
The standing desk thing strikes me as a classic example of prioritizing something that is only a correlate of the thing that is actually helpful (e.g. since exercise != sitting at a desk, we must therefore stand at desks & still not exercise)
(Now if only there were a way to get exercise at the desk while sitting down...)
