My whole life, I've lived in New England: the land of blizzards and ice storms. When there's a storm on the forecast, we prepare. Stock up on bottled water and nonperishables, refill prescriptions that are running low, charge the flashlights and electronic devices, have a stack of blankets on hand, make sure there's fuel in the car and (if you're lucky) generator, restack the indoor wood pile. 1/3

Sometimes the forecasted storms uneventfully pass by, in which case you're left with a little extra food on hand, some jugs of water for the next storm, and some cozy blankets to snuggle up in.

Anyway, this has been a message to those choosing to mock people who are taking steps to prepare for a Trump presidency. 2/3

@molly0xfff I wouldn't mock anyone who makes rational preps.

I *might* roll my eyes a bit at the habitually unprepared that 1) choose *this* moment to start googling "prepping" and 2) who will decide it means buying a pre-packaged Bucket o' Prep from Walmart and forgetting about it afterward. Preparedness is best played as a long game and not a transient panic reaction.

[while writing this I was reminded of the Be Prepared scout motto. Then I had the unfortunate realization my eagle scout card (signed by Reagan) is probably older than you are. :-\ ]
